IHADSS Flashcards
(29 cards)
The IHADSS consist of what two subsystems?
HMS and HMD
What sighting component does the AAIH interface with for LOS calculation?
The IBRU
What components make up the HMD subsystem?
HDU, DDU, ISDU
Which component creates the symbology viewed by the crewmember?
The MP
Where is the Improved Helmet Display Unit (HDU) stowed?
In the right console holster
What does the HDU cable assembly connect to?
The DDU
How should the HDU cable assembly NOT be routed?
Under the right arm
What is the purpose of the HDU combiner lens sliding clip?
To ensure proper FOV
Where is the GRAYSCALE option/selection found?
WPN Page top level
What are the two video adjustments made on the IHDU itself?
Leveling and focus
How many shades of gray are display when the grayscale is optimized correctly?
10
What are the two most important things to remember when performing the infinity focus check?
Focusing on an object at least 200ft away and center raster lines should be crisp
Why is it important to perform the infinity focus check correctly?
To prevent eye strain, headaches, etc
What is the aircraft Armament Datum Line (ADL)?
The ADL is an imaginary reference line extending through the longitudinal axis of the aircraft at 0°
azimuth, 0° elevation.
What systems(s) can the Pilot boresight from the PLT WPN BORESIGHT page?
IHADSS
What systems(s) can the Copilot Gunner boresight from the CPG WPN BORESIGHT page?
IHADSS and TADS
Crewmembers boresight their IHADSS to the
ADL
What are the three selectable symbology modes available in both crewstations?
Hover, transition, cruise
The velocity vector saturates (fully extends) in Transition Mode symbology at what ground speed?
60 KIAS
What does the Field of Regard box represent?
A box representing the selected sensor, the FOR displays at the bottom and represents the total
gimbal limits of the crewmember’s selected sensor.
What is the purpose of the IHADSS?
Establishing a LOS in reference to the ADL, to:
- Aim weapons
- Point sensors
What is MCD? IMRU? ISDU?
Magnetic Computational Data
Improved Electromagnetic Receiver Unit
Integrated Sight Display Unit
What does the DDU do?
- Brightness + contrast
- Sizing, centering, electronic focus
- Should normally be correct
