Transplant Rejection Morphology: Arterial fibrinoid necrosis + Capillary Thrombotic Occlusion
Hyperacute
Transplant Rejection Morphology: C4d deposition
Acute (Humoral)
Transplant Rejection Morphology: Neutrophilic infiltrate
Acute (Humoral)
Transplant Rejection Morphology: Necrotizing vasculitis
Acute (Humoral)
Transplant Rejection Morphology: Lymphocytic interstitial infiltrate
Acute (Cellular)
Transplant Rejection Morphology: Endotheliitis
Acute (Cellular)
Transplant Rejection Morphology: Chronic (4)
1) Vascular wall thickening
2) Vascular luminal narrowing
3) Interstitial Fibrosis
4) Parenchyma atrophy
CP: Serum Sickness Drug Hypersensitivity Reaction
Onset:
CP: fever / urticaria / arthralgia / proteinuria / LAD
Onset: 5-10 days after exposure
Fxn: Bradykinin
vasodilation / increase vascular permeability / stimulate nonvascular smooth muscle contraction / mediates pain
Fxn: C3a (2)
C3a / C4a / C5a are inflammatory anaphylotoxis that trigger histamine release from mast cells
C3a recruits and activates eosinophils and basophils (BUT NOT neutrophils)
IL-3
Produced by activated T cells
Stim. growth and differentiation of stem cells in bone marrow
IL-10
TH2 cells + Macrophage
Anti-inflammatory: decrease IFN gamma / IL-2 / IL-3 / TNF-alpha
Leukotriene C4, D4 , E4
vasoconstriction
increase vascular permeability
bronchospasm
Neutrophil chemotaxis
n-formylated peptide 5-HETE (leukotriene precursor) C5-a LTB4 IL-8
