  • India got the world’s third largest railroad network which enabled India to develop a modern ecomny and bring unity to connected religion
  • Railroads, road networks, telephone and telegraph lines, dams, bridges, and irrigation canals enabled India to modernize.
  • Hygien improved
  • Schools/colleges fwere founded
  • literacy increased
  • cleared central India of bandits and put an end to local warfare among competing local rulers

  • Indians considered cow sacred and rumors spread that Enfield rivles were greased with beef and pork fat. Indians refused to accept cartiaged. They were sent to jail, and put under Indian soldiers, who went to go capture the city of Delhi. Rebellion spread to northern and central India
