commerce clause
to regulate commerce with foreign nations, and among the several states, and with the Indian tribes
necessary and proper clause
congress has the power to make all laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into the execution the foregoing powers, and all other powers vested by this constitution in the government of the united states
full faith and credit clause
addresses the duties that states within the United States have to respect the “public acts, records, and judicial proceedings of every other state.”
guarantee clause
. The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened), against domestic Violence.
supremacy clause
establishes that the Constitution, federal laws made pursuant to it, and treaties made under its authority, constitute the supreme law of the land
