Imtimate Partner Violence

Question 1

The goal of the service is to:

Answer 1

1. REDUCE the incidence of intimate partner violence and homicide through education and enforcement
2. Throughly investigate all intimate partner violence and incidents and bring offenders to Justice wherever possible
3. Enhance safety of victims through prompt action including referrals to other community partners
4. Build effective partnerships with community support agencies to ensure victim focused response

Question 2

IPV, supervisory officer attendance is mandatory for:

Answer 2

1. All IPV calls
2. When the suspect/victim/ accused is a member of the service
3. When the suspect/victim/accused is a member of another service

Question 3

Directly contact the appropriate CAS regarding any URGENT matter involving CHILD/YOUTH

Answer 3

1. Child/youth with an injury due to IPV
2. Child has become involved in an IPV event/incident in a direct manner
3. Caregiver unavailable to care for child/youth
4. Other factors including but not limited to MH and substance misuse
5. Other issues that lead the officer to be concerned about immediate safety
