Seat Belt

A

A

Air Supply Gauge

A

With the engine running, check the air pressure gauge(s) are working properly. Check the vehicle has adequate air supply in the tank reservoir. Build the air pressure to the governed cutout at 120-140 psi.

Emergency and Safety Equipment

A

Check the fire extinguisher is properly charged, stored, rated and secured. Check for spare electrical fuses. Identify where the warning devices are stored. Check for three reflective triangles.

Service Brake

A

Operate and check the service brake by pulling forward slowly and apply the service brake. Verbalize that the vehicle does not pull to either side.

Parking Brake-Tractor

A

Red Valve in, yellow valve out. Apply the parking brake only and check that it will hold the vehicle by shifting to a lower gear and gently pulling against the brake.

Parking Brake-Trailer

A

Red valve out, yellow valve in. For combination vehicles, set the trailer parking brakes only and perform the same check by pulling against the trailer brakes.
