0-1 month
oral stage, aware of inanimate vs animate, social interaction, eye hand, lifts head when prone, head lag, can turn head, sucking and rooting, gains 5-7oz a week senses: hearing taste smell vision
2- 4 months
lifts head 45 degrees when prone, hold head steady by 4 months, follows moving objects with eyes, recognizes familiar faces, vocalizations by 2 months, squeals by 4 months, smiles, then laughs, uses hands to put objects in mouth, cooing, hearing , vision: begins to show interest in hands
5-8 months
first tooth, sleeps through the night, rolls from back to stomach, starts to imitate sounds, sits well alone by 8 months, begins to show patterns of regular bladder bowel elimination, responds to “no”, depth perception, eye color determined by 6 months.
9-11 months
creeps and crawls, good coordination, sits alone, responds to adult anger, drinks with a cup, begins to show fear, pincer grasp, attempts to walk by 11 months, imitates simple words and sounds
12-15 months
loses babinski’s sign (toe reflex when sole of foot stimulated) by 12 months, weighs triple birthweight by 12, can say mama and da da, knows their name, tolerates some separation, has temper tantrums, walks without help
16-18 months
closed anterior fontanel, walks up stairs without help, turns pages of a book, begins to test limits, has bowel movements when helped to the potty, comes communicative
4 months sleep
nocturnal sleep, 9=11 hours, 2 naps during day
12 months sleep
sleeps through night, 1-2 naps
