What is rose black spot and its symptoms?
A fungus
Purple/ black dots on leaves
Leaves can go yellow and fall off
Less photosynthesis & growth
Spread by water and wind
Treatment by fungicides and removing effected leaves
What is measles?
A virus
Red skin rash and fever
Sometimes leads to pneumonia
Spread by droplets from sneezing or coughing
What is HIV?
A virus
Flu like symptoms
Attacks immune cells causing immune deficiency
Could cause AIDS
Spread by bodily fluids (e.g sex, needles)
Can be treated at early stages with antiretroviral drugs
What is TMV?
Tobacco mosaic VIRUS
Effects lots of plants e.g tomato’s
Parts of leaves become discoloured =
Can’t photosynthesise very well so effects growth
What are the three ways pathogens can be spread?

Air
Direct contact

• B-lymphocytes produce antibodies
• producing antitoxins
