Belief in the Holy Trinity

A

They will baptise new Christians in the name of the 3 persons:
“I baptise you in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” - Bible
They sing hymns or say prayers showing their belief in the Trinity
The three natures of the Trinity work together in harmony and respect. Christians must try to show their fellow humans the same
They believe in the One God and believe Christianity is monotheistic
They believe that God the Father created the world and gave it to us as a gift to look after and so will respect and protect the Earth

Angels

A

Muslims will thank Allah for sending angels to communicate with the prophets, in particular they will praise Allah for sending Jibril to reveal the Qur’an to the Prophet Muhammad
They will thank Allah for sending Mika’il to nourish humans

Predestination

A

Muslims will be more accepting of the hardships they face as they know that everything happens because Allah has willed it
They won’t question Allah as he has determined everything
Muslims will say ‘Inshallah’ – ‘If God wills it’ to emphasise their belief that God’s will is supreme and he has already planned all that will happen

They will not support the worship of idols (shirk) as neither Ibrahim or Muhammad did
On Id ul-Adha they will sacrifice an animal, reminding them of the sacrifice Ibrahim was willing to make
They will have even more faith in Allah as they know he has sent 124,000 prophets to communicate his will and message to humans

The Imamate (Shi’a Islam only)

A

They will follow the guidance of the Imams (especially when reading the Qur’an, as the Imams can perfectly interpret the Qur’an)
They will be hopeful for the return of the 12th Imam (Muhammad al-Mahdi) at the end of time on the Day of Judgement, as he will bring justice and equality to all

The Qur’an

A

To learn the Qur’an in its original Arabic (also: to learn to recite the Qur’an to become a Hafiz)
To go to a Madrasa to learn Qur’anic Arabic to learn how to recite the Qur’an
To use the Qur’an to help guide them in everyday life – it will guide their behaviour and actions
They will thank God for giving them the Qur’an and its guidance

Other Holy Books (The Hadith - Muhammad, The Torah (Tawrat) - Moses (Musa), The Psalms - David, The Gospel (Injil) - Jesus (Isa), The Scrolls of Abraham (Ibrahim))

“We sent Jesus, son of Mary, in their footsteps, to confirm the Torah which had been sent before him: We gave him the Gospel with guidance, light and confirmation of the Torah already revealed – a guide and lesson for those who take heed of God” - Qur’an
To learn about these other holy books which are mentioned in the Qur’an but only to give full authority to the Qur’an as these other texts have been corrupted or distorted.
Influenced by The Injil to believe that Isa was the Messiah and special prophet and therefore to follow his teachings
to reject the Christian Gospels as they have been corrupted over many years and no longer represent the truth of the Injil
They will be influenced to follow the teachings of Musa as recorded in the Tawrat
