Instruments Flashcards
(14 cards)
What is the function of the Airspeed Indicator (ASI)?
It indicates the aircraft’s airspeed in knots by measuring the pressure differential between the static port and pitot tube.
What does the Attitude Indicator (Artificial Horizon) display?
It shows the aircraft’s pitch and roll/bank movements
What is the purpose of the Altimeter?
It measures the aircraft’s altitude above sea level in feet using only the static port.
What does the Turn Coordinator indicate?
It displays the rate of turn and helps prevent slipping or skidding. It can also serve as a backup for roll indication (but not pitch).
What information does the Heading Indicator provide?
It shows the direction the aircraft is heading in degrees (also called a directional gyro or gyro compass).
What is the function of the Vertical Speed Indicator (VSI)?
It indicates the rate of climb or descent in feet per minute (fpm)
What does the Tachometer measure and what is its unit?
It indicates the engine speed in RPM (Revolutions Per Minute)
What is the function of the Oil Pressure Gauge?
It monitors the lubricating oil pressure
What does the Oil Temperature Gauge display?
It measures the temperature of the engine oil
What information does the Fuel Quantity Gauge provide?
It shows the amount of fuel remaining in the aircraft’s fuel tanks.
What does the Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT) Gauge monitor?
It measures the temperature of the engine cylinders helping prevent overheating and engine damage.
What is Flight Instruments
devices that provide pilots with essential information
What does Flight Instruments indicates
Info about aircraft’s position, attitude(movement) for safe and efficient flight
Engine instrument give pilot ability to monitor following..
Engine health, Performance, Safe operation
