A

Many Germans were shocked when they found out they had not won the war as they had been told they were. They believed they had unnecessarily taken the armistice and so there was growing resentment.

A

The leaders of the great powers and their allies met at Versailles. There were the ‘big three’ and in total 32 countries. Italy was the 4th major power present but left after not getting what he wanted.
