What is an IP address?

A

It’s a set of 4 numbers separated by dots (the numbers are between 1-255). Each device has its own IP address that separates it from other devices, making it easier to communicate between devices through the internet.

Where does the IP address come from?

A

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol is a software that is provided by ISP that allow your device to ask for IP address. The DHCP server then responds and provides an IP address contrlled by the ISP that is specific for your home
