they were moderate, urged Cromwell to crush levellers, wanted to bring back censorship, and wanted to raise the church image by making attending church compulsory

he dismissed the rump parliament due to him being a strict puritan and wanting religious tolerance through asking questions about god and studying the bible so he became impatient with rump . didnt want country to be run the way it was before .
