Cultural Style

Period Style
Many works are strongly evocative of their time of origin, as in this piece, in which clothing, furniture, and architecture all suggest the 18th century
Regional Style
Similar to cultural style, artworks may strongly evoke a specific place, even more than societal norms.
Group Style
Some groups of artists or schools of art develop a strong and recognizable style that few or mo other artists use, as in this impressionist piece.
Personal Style
Personal style takes group style a step further, presenting works that are distinctive to a particular artist

Is this piece representational or nonrepresentational? Representational works are intended to look like something. Nonrepresentational pieces are not intended to be any kind of likeness, but instead explore the elements of art itself.
