1) Controller set to MIDI (not Local)
2) MIDI cable from the Controller (keyboard) connected to the correct input of the MIDI
Interface (Output connected to Input)
- MIDI INTERFACE
3) USB Cable connected from the MIDI Interface to the Computer
4) Correct Devices patched correctly in MIDI STUDIO SETUP
5) Correct Keyboard Controller checked in INPUT DEVICES (under the SETUP:MIDI
menu in ProTools)
6) OUTPUT set to the correct Sound Module (and correct MIDI Channel) on your MIDI
TRACK.
7) INPUT in ProTools set correctly (normally to ALL – but check to make sure the
correct Controller (Keyboard) is showing up here.
8) Record Ready on
- METERS IN PROTOOLS
9) MIDI cable connected from the MIDI Interface Output to the Sound Module MIDI IN
- MIDI MESSAGE LIGHT
10) Voices in the Sound Module set to the correct MIDI Channel and turned on
11) Audio Output cables from Sound Module connected to Mixing Board or to AUDIO
INTERFACE (Going into AUDIO CHANNEL set to INPUT) correctly.
- HEARING SOUND

Most common problem (not in reader)
MIDI quits working - restart protools (sometimes entire computer)
