what is the ontological question?
what are mental states & physical states? are all mental states physical states or vice versa?
- physical states = public, mass & weight
- minds are opposite
what is the causal question?
do physical states influence mental states? do mental states influence physical states? if so, how?
- physical states can produce/cause mental states & vice versa

mind & body are two distinct substances
