Introduction - What to cover off?
A
- Build rapport
- Describe the purpose and format of the meeting - using the agenda
- Ask how they are for time? Meeting should take 1 to 1.5 hours
- Reiterate that it’s just a chat - no decisions need to be made
- Be mindful of vulnerabilities
it’s a chance to work out how we might be able to work together.

Contracting - what to cover off?
A
- Explain that everything and anything discussed is entirely confidential, and that they can stop the meeting at any point if they feel uncomfortable
- Encourage client to ask questions or challenge me on points, and expect me to press harder on areas that I feel are important to understand fully.
- Ask permission to take notes to help improve understanding and provide suitable advice

Setting expectations - What to cover off?
A
- Ask what would be the best possible outcome for the meeting today? Or, what are they hoping to achieve by the end of the meeting.
- Ask what kind of working relationship they’d like to have

What is the last part of the introduction section?
A
- Asking if they have any questions and are happy to proceed.
