belief in one God- absolute faith in the oneness of God and nothing can be likened to Allah

Belief in angels- Muslims believe God’s greatness means he cannot communicate directly with humans and uses malaikah to pass messages to the prophets. Malaikah were God’s first creation and always obey him

Belief in Holy Books

Belief in prophets- Muslims believe prophets should be respected but not worshipped

Belief in day of Judgement- Muslims believe this life is a test and when you die you are judged by God and sent to Paradise or Hell

Belief in Divine Predestination- Muslims believe Allah knows or decides everything that will happen

What is Shahadah
Declaration of faith- usually said a few times a day, said as first words a Muslim hears when born and aimed to be last words before death. Shows dedication and commitment to Islam.
What is Salah?
Prayer- There are 5 daily prayers (Fajr, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha). Allows muslims to communicate and listen to Allah
What is sawm?
Fasting- during 9th month of lunar calendar (Ramadan)
-Give up food, liquid, smoking and swearing during daylight for a month. Leaves extra time for prayer, contemplation of God and reading the Qur’an. Reminds muslims to be grateful and patient
