Q
Reasons why prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) was important
A
- Received and spread the Quran- he was chosen by Allah as the last messenger and was responsible for spreading the information told to him through the angel Jibrail to others. Muhammad revealed Allah’s teachings through the Quran SCRIPTURE PROOF- ‘All praise is for Allah- Lord of all worlds’- Surah Ghafir (60,70) which recognises the Oneness and strength of God. Without him Muslims wouldn’t have been able to hear the direct and pure words of Allah and the faith couldn’t have spread
- Influenced Muslim lifestyles and practices- Sunnah and Hadith are records of his actions and sayings and act as a sacred model for mankind. This can be seen through Muhammad’ s completion and officiation of the first Hajj, which is now followed and completed by Muslims worldwide who travel to Mecca and perform a series of the same rituals performed by Muhammad before them, such as circling the Kaaba 7 times. These scriptures help teach Muslims how to live a righteous life and implement the teachings of the quran.
