6 characteristics and impacts of ITCZ
A
(ITCZ) is an area of low pressure in Hadley Cell
Tropical Continental north-east trade winds meet with Tropical Maritime south-east winds
They meet (converge), moist air cools ,rises and condenses forming precipitation
The ITCZ moves seasonally according to the thermal equator
In June Solstice it moves 23½º North, to the Tropic of Cancer
In December solstice, it moves 23½º South, the Tropic of Capricorn
