Q

John Adams’ Presidency

A

John Adams was the second president of the united states. He served one term, and largely influenced the colonial U.S. When leaving the presidency he hired what became known as the “midnight judges”. John Adams hired these people to disrupt the next president Thomas Jefferson. As Thomas Jefferson was a Democratic-republican, John Adams hired federalists to create a larger federalist presence for Jefferson. It was assumed that Thomas Jefferson would hire as many Democratic-republicans as possible, as he strongly opposed the federalists.
