domestic (home) - shabbat meal: plaited bread represents the double portion of the bread that din’t go mouldy on this day of rest for Israelites

what is the importance of Shabbat for adherants
by resting and sanctifying shabbat, jews acknowledge that God is the creator of heaven and earth and of all living things. jews acknowledge God’s great act of liberation and god’s desire for a personal relationship with the Chosen People
