A

The uneven distribution of opportunities and rewards for different social group, defined by factors such as housing, healthcare, education, employment and access to services.

What is the difference between abolute poverty and relative poverty?

A
  • Absolute poverty is defined by the World Bank as the level of income necessary for basic living standards ($1.90/day PPP)
  • Relative poverty is based on the standard of living in a country (e.g. UK relative poverty is less than 60% of the average UK income, or less than £296 a week).
