Knee cruciate ligaments

A

Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL)

  • runs upwards, backwards and laterally.
  • creates hyper extension

Posterior cruciate ligaments (PCL)

  • runs upwards, forwards and medially
  • prevents hyperflextion

They work together to keep tibia and fibula stabilised
