Sup: biceps femoris, semitendonosis, semimembranosis Inf: gastrocnemius (medial and lateral heads)

Roof: skin and fascia Floor: femur, tendon of semimembranosus, oblique popliteal ligament.

Contents:

popiteal artery (genicular branches to the knee joint). Popliteal vein and lymphatics vessels and nodes.

tibial and common fibular nerves.

A

lateral head of the gastrocnemius is on the condyle of the femur while the medial head is superior to the condyle.
