What happened to the role of women during the 1960s?
It was the start of women’s sexual liberation, aided by events such as the introduction of the contraceptive pill- this point links in with how women were sexualised in the poster and the time period (objects)
What are the representations of the females in the poster?
Women on the left hand side- sexualised, wearing revealing clothes, weak and innocent
Women on the right hand side- dominant, poster over the male which subvert a the gender stereotype
What is the representation of the males in the poster?
Male on the left hand side- dominant and powerful like the conventional stereotype
Male on the right hand side- weak and is being dominated by the women which subverts the usual gender stereotype of the time period
What does the wooden styling of the title link to?
The wooden style references to vampires coffins and the connotations of being a vampire
What effect does the use of primary colouring have?
- It grabs the attention of the audience and they are eye catching
- by making the colours desaturated reinforces the films dark, scary conventions whilst some bright tones draw attention to the vampire blood
What is the nature of the advert?
It could be both hard and soft sell as the nature is casual in terms of the simplicity of the working but the listed cast names on the bottom and the fact it comes in colour creates a persuasive nature to buy/watch the film
