KV Part 2 Flashcards
(39 cards)
If and engine fails on takeoff, what will the F/D pitch for?
V2 or speed at lift-off?
If engine fails inflight, what will F/D pitch for?
V2 - V2+20
At what altitude does LNAV engage?
50’ RA
How can you terminate F/D takeoff mode during departure?
Prior to 400 ft - both F/D switches off
After 400 ft - select a pitch mode or turn on A/P
Center fuel tank indicator goes blank prior to takeoff. What resources can you use? Is it deferable?
Dispatch, MEL, ATC
Yes. MAX has provisions for dispatch with fuel in the center tank that the NG does not.
What methods are acceptable for determining fuel quanity without an indicator?
- Fuel measuring stick readings
2. Tank verified empt and filled with known quanity of fuel.
Where would you find info on repetative MEL procedures?
FOM 19.3.6
What info is required for a repetative MEL writeup?
- Flight #
- Departure and Destination
- UTC date
- MEL #
- Employee #
If after following the IRS fault QRH procedure you learn that neither A/P can be engaged, what are your considerations?
- RVSM, fuel, diversions, wx, etc.
2. 2 in, 2 out
How does the lack of an A/P affect approach considerations?
- No RNP less than 0.3
2. WX below 3/4 mile or 4000 RVR require HGS approach
Which sources provide hydraulic and electrical power for A and B channel A/P’s respectively?
A - A hydrualics and #1 electrics
B - B hydraulics and #2 electrics
Minimum altitudes for engagement and disengagement of the A/P?
Takeoff - 1000 AGL
Landing - 50 below DA/MDA but not less than 50 AGL
Explain load shedding during single generator operations:
#2 galleys and main bus are shed first #1 galleys and main bus are shed second if overload continues
(manually reset with switch)
APU altitude limitations:
10,000 - E&A
17,000 - A
41,000 - E
Time required between APU start attempts?
How many attemps are permitted?
90 sec
3 attemps only
Protection time for cargo fire after bottle discharge?
Single bottle - 60 min
Double bottle - 180 min
If fire situation deteriorates, what should be considered?
Immediate landing - an otherwise unsuitable runway
Considerations on landing when emergency evacuation is required:
- Flaps 40
- Outflow valve
- Coordinate stopping point/position
Electrical power for fire detection and suppression?
Detection - DC bus 1/2
Suppression - hot battery bus
Describe cargo smoke detection system:
- dual loop, smoke detectors
* automatic conversion to single loop
During approach PWS armed when?
Cautions disarmed? Warnings?
Armed - 1200’ RA
Cautions disarmed - 400’ RA
Warnings disarmed - 50’ RA
PWS aural cautions vs. warnings?
Caution - “Monitor Radar Display”
Warning - “GO AROUND, WINDSHEAR AHEAD, WINDSHEAR AHEAD”
How to exit APP mode:
- TOGA
- both F/D
- changing NAV frequency
Requirements for TOGA activation:
- Inflight below 2000 RA
- Flaps not up or GS captured
- Not in TO mode
