-Homes took several years to rebuild and historic centres are expected to take 15 years to rebuild.

What happened to 6 scientists and when?

A

In October 2012, 6 scientists and one government official were found guilty of manslaughter as they had no predicted the earthquake. They were accused of giving residents a false sense of confidence and seriously underestimated the risks. They each received 6 years in prison and were ordered to pay several million euros in damage. However in November 2014, the verdict was overturned for the 6 scientists.
