25
What are Malignant tumour of melanocytes ?
Melanoma
26
Example of CNS tumours
Meningioma Astrocytoma -Glioblastoma multiforme Oligoendroglioma Ependymoma Medulloblastoma
27
What are Germ cell tumours ?
Common in - gonads | Cells arise from germ cells.
28
Example of seminomatous tumour?
Eg seminoma
29
Examples of Non –seminomatous germ cells tumour
eg Teratoma (Teeth / hair / muscle / neural / cartilage)
30
Examples of Embryonal Tumours
Histological resemblance to embryonic cells of that organ RETINOBLASTOMA NEPHROBLASTOMA (WILMS) NEUROBLASTOMA HEPATOBLASTOMA
31
Malignant tumours with benign names....?
Melanoma Mesothelioma Myeloma Lymphoma
32
What is a HAMARTOMA?
benign, focal malformation that resembles a neoplasm in the tissue of its origin. This is not a malignant tumor, and it grows at the same rate as the surrounding tissues. It is composed of tissue elements normally found at that site, but which are growing in a disorganized mass.
33
What is a CHORISTOMA?
Nodules of organ parenchyma in another organ E.g. normal (non-neoplastic) pancreas nodule in stomach
