a form of government in which all eligible citizens have an equal say in the decisions that affect their lives.
DEMOCRACY
form of democracy in which people vote on policy initiatives directly, as opposed to a representative democracy in which people vote for representatives who then vote on policy initiatives.
DIRECT DEMO
is a variety of democracy founded on the principle of elected people representing a group of people.
REPRESENTATIVE DEMO
refers to an autocratic form of absolute rule by leadership unrestricted by law, constitutions, or other social and political factors within the state.
DICTATORSHIP
a form of social organization characterized by submission to authority as well as the administration of said authority.
AUTHORITARIANISM
is an extreme version of dictatorship.
a political system where the state holds total authority over the society and seeks to control all aspects of public and private life wherever necessary.
TOLITARIANISM
a form of government in which sovereignty is actually or nominally embodied in a single individual,
MONARCHY
a form of government where a small group of elites rule.
ARISTOCRACY
is a form of government in which experts in technology would be in control of all decision making.
TECHNOCRACY
is a form of government in which official policy is governed by immediate divine guidance or by officials who are regarded as divinely guided, or is pursuant to the doctrine of a particular religion or religious group.
THEOCRACY
is a system of democratic governance of a state where the executive branch derives its democratic legitimacy from legislature (parliament) and is also held accountable to that legislature.
PARLIAMENTARY SYSTEM
The head of state and head of government positions are held by a council instead of an individual.
DIRECTORIAL SYSTEM
Where a prime minister (or President, in the case of South Africa and Botswana)is the active head of the executive branch of government and also leader of the legislature.
PARLIAMENTARY REPUBLIC
shares power with semi-independent regional governments. In many cases, the central government is (in theory) a creation of the regional governments.
FEDERAL
is defined as the supreme law of the land.
It defines and sets the making of the state, the government and the rights of its people.
