What is an ointment?
A homogenous semi-solid preparation.
Usually consists of solutions or dispersions of one or more API in suitable bases.
Applied to skin or mucous membrane for emollient, therapeutic or prophylactic purposes.
What are the 4 types of ointments?

2. Absorption bases
3. Emulsion bases
