A

-celtic dialects, influcenced by the angles saxons and jutes
-celtic dialects moved to wales cornwall scotland and ireland which are all on the coast
-latin was a lingua franca
-english began to be written in roman alphabet
-when normans invaded the french became the aristocracy so did the language and anglo saxon became a dialect of the peasanrty
