What is the main cause of balanoposthitis?
Herpesvirus

What are the different types of ovarian cysts?
Follicular cysts

What is a follicular cyst?
Failure of a mature follicle to ovulate. Persistence >10d w/out functional CL.

What clinical signs are seen with a follicular cyst and how is it treated?
Frequent, intermittent bulling.

What is a luteal cyst?
Anovulation w/ luteinisation of theca. Delayed/ insufficient LH peak.
Wall >3mm. Produces progesterone.
What clinical signs are seen with a luteal cyst and how is it treated?
Anoestrus

What are cystic CL?
Occur w/ normal ovulation. Have ovulation papilla on surface
What is endometritis cf metritis?
Metritis occurs w/in a couple of days of parturition, involves all layers of the uterus, systemic illness, purulent fetid fluid in uterine lumen
Endometritis- occurs later, only inner supf layer (endometrium), white mucous, not sick.
What are the risk factors for metritis and endometritis?
Metritis- dystocia, twins, ketosis, milk fever
Endometritis- metritis, NEB
