Q

The two chambers of the anterior cavity

A

Anterior Chamber:
Location is space between the cornea and iris. Filled with aqueous humor

Posterior Chamber: Location is narrow space between the iris and lens, including the area around the ciliary body. Filled with aqueous humor

Q

What structure is unique to a sheep’s eye?

A

Tapetum Lucidum. Sits behind the retina to enhance night vision.

OR, it’s their rectangular pupils that allow for wider field of view compared to humans.

Q

Tracing a Photon through the eye

A

Enter through CORNEA. Pass the IRIS and through PUPIL hole that’s created by PUPILLARY MUSCLES. Then pass through LENS to focus light onto RETINA. Photoreceptors (rods and cones) see the light. CHOROID prevents stray photons from activating more receptors. The photoreceptic info turns into a neural signal traveling via OPTIC NERVE where half of vision crosses at OPTIC CHIASM to travel to visual cortex (lateral and contralateral depending on left/right vision)
