Reflexes Flashcards
Accommodation Reflex
This is for near vision
Ciliary muscles contract, zonular fibers slacken, lens become more round to focus on close objects
LENS ADJUSTMENT FOR DIFFERING DISTANCE
Light Reflex
Pupillary Constriction: Contraction of sphincter pupillae (parasympathetic; lights out chill out)
Pupillary Dilation: Contraction of dilator pupillae (sympathetic; see more, survivor)
PUPIL ADJUSTMENT FOR LIGHT INTAKE
Gag Reflex
Vomit when the pharynx is touched
What is the innervation (input/output) of the Gag Reflex?
Input of CN9 sensory, output of CN10 motor (vomiting)
What is the innervation of pupillary light reflex?
Sensory in of CN2 (optic), motor output of CN3 (to correct via pupillary muscle)
Done when light intensity varies
What is the innervation of accommodation reflex?
Input into CN2 (optics), motor output of CN3 (to adjust lens to focus on differing distanced objects)
