What happened in the Aaland islands?

Rival claim between Sweden and Finland.
League investigated found that most islanders wanted to be part of Finland

Greece was ordered to pay £45000 compensation for invading and killing a sentry
This was deemed a disproportionate amount by the league
Greece accepted the ruling but were unhappy it was not treated like the Corfu incident

What happened in Vilina?
Date: 1920
Vilina was a largely Polishley populated city, however due to the tov it was made part of Lithuania.
A Polish army seized the city and tried to claim it. The league stepped in and asked them to leave however they refused because they wanted the CoA to deal with it instead. In the end the city was given to Poland by the CoA
What happened in the Ruhr?
Date: 1923
Germany had failed to pay their reparations payments for the year so the Belgian and French governments sent an army to the Ruhr. They did this without consulting the league. The troops occupied the Ruhr and the league did not do anything.
Manchuria crisis results?
Date: 1931 - 1933
Showed the weakness of the league
Britain and France were not willing to support the league against Japan
The failure of the league encouraged later aggression from Germany
Abyssinian crisis results?
Date - 1935
Showed that the league was unwilling to use a military force to stop Italy
The secret deal Hoare Laval pact showed that Britain and France were undermining the league
What was the Hoare Laval pact?
Date: 1935
A secret pact to give Italy most of Abyssinia to prevent a war. The pact was created by the British and the French but was withdrawn when the idea was leaked to the public
