A
The importance of food in attachment
Classical conditioning - the mother (NS) becomes associated with food and produces the CR of pleasure
Operant conditioning- crying leads to a response from the mother e..g feeding- the mother receives negative reinforcement when the crying stops
Hunger is a primary drive, attachment is a secondary drive- learned by an association between the mother and satisfaction
