Lecture 2 Flashcards
(12 cards)
Define process
any set of conditions for which you wish to study the observed outcomes
define outcome
define factor
define level
what does deterministic mean
you can calculate an “exact” value
what does probabilistic mean
depends on the chance of getting that level
what is probability formula
successful outcomes / total # outcomes
if you have 2 coins and they’re flipped and one is a head, what is the prob that the other one is a head
1/3 (think like a punnet square)
What is a frequency distribution
the pattern or shape formed by the group measurements
what is a normal distribution
a type of frequency distribution
what does a normal distribution look like?

What is SPC (statistical process control)
a chart that you plot your data on. you take data from the process and at whatever interval that you choose, then compare it with other data. it helps compare it with other data. x
