The a child’s brain could regain some function even with some removed. This differed in adults

A
Neurons that fire together wire together
->cell A fires and causes B to fire, increases B efficiency

Combination of neurons which could be grouped together as one processing unit

Organisation of network in which higher processes inform/suppress/inhibit lower processes
