What is measurement?
The act of assigning numbers and units to objects or events
What is the descriptive function of measurement?
Applies to the single case e.g sally ran on the treadmill for 30 minutes
What is the comparison function of measurement?
Involves a relational statement concerning two or more cases. Eg sally ran 3 minutes longer than george
What is the prediction function of measurement?
Results of future measurement that requires at least 2 prior measurements at known points in time. Eg sally will be able to run 45 mins by end of month
What is an anecdotal record?
A written description of events that occur during a specific time period or an instructional period.
When in an anecdotal record is the target behaviour identified?
AFTER the ancedotal record
Is it easy or difficult to get reliable data from an anecdotal record?
