What is the incidental affect ?
emotions unrelated to the intergroup context, emotions NOT elicited by the outgroup
What are integral emotions ?
emotions elicited by the outgroup
What are individual-level emotions ?
emotions experienced as an individual
What are group-based emotions ?
emotions experienced as a member of a group toward another group
What is the IET ?
Emotions can be experienced as a group member
What is warmth ?
concerns the degree of competitive relationship b/w one’s own group and the target group
What is competence ?
Related to social status of the groups
What is symbolic threat ?
conflict in values, norms and beliefs between groups
What is intergroup anxiety ?
feelings of uneasiness and awkwardness in the presence of outgroup members because of uncertainty about how to behave toward them
What are negative stereotypes ?
foster negative expectations about the behaviour of the outgroup and its members
What is ITG-DS ?
Tendency to experience disgust and revulsion reactions toward outgroups
What are cross-level effects ?
emotions at different levels can affect each other and prejudice
What is co-occurence of emotions ?
experience multiple emotions at once
