Lecture 4 - Measurement and Assessment Flashcards
What is Alternative testing?
Subjective observation reliant more “real life”
What is Standardized testing?
More objective, less subjective bias
What do we assess in adapted physical education?
Minimally test physical fitness, motor skills, fundamental and specialized skills
What is testing?

Criterion referenced standards
comparisons made with predetermined mastery scores determined by expert opinion, research data, logic and experiences
What does an alternative approach look like?
strong assessment often checklists, rubrics, task analysis and portfolios
What does a standardized approach look like?
Include published tests with specific direction and conditions for test. Standards provided to make judgement on student test performance
