What are project Resources?
Things that are required to get the project done!
For example, People, Equipment, Funding, Facilities, Technology, Information.
What is human resources?
It includes all project stakeholders.
IT/ls, it consists of system analyst, system developers, system programming etc.
What does Human resources management include?
Acquiring HR and Maintaining HR.
What is the main goal of Activity Resource Estimation?
The goal of activity resource estimating is to estimate the resources needed for each activity in the project to be completed successfully.
Why is managing Resources important?
Efficient and effective use of resources can often make or break a project.
Allocation of resource can have a major influence on project schedules
Eg. Limited programmes in software development project will affects project time, cost, quality ….
What information do you need for resourcing projects?
- -Identified the project scope
- -Created WBS (Work Breakdown Structure).
- -Estimated Activity duration.
What abilities are needed to correctly resource projects?
Technical & Behavioural.
What are the technical abilities needed when resourcing projects?
- Estimate resource demands
- -Create a staffing management plan
- Compress a project schedule.
List some behavioural abilities needed when resourcing projects.
- -Select the right people
- -Identify exactly what each needs to accomplish
- -Ensure performance capability
- -Deal with difficult individual work schedules
- -Schedule overtime when there are conflicts
Why is it important to understand resource limitation?
To prevent over promising.
List some key resourcing consideration?
- -Help key people develop necessary skills.
- -Consider project tradeoffs and precedence
