Lecture 9 - Anemia, Anti-arrhythmics, Hemostasis Flashcards
(6 cards)
What class of anti-arrhythmic drugs is a Na+ channels blocker, and decreases excitability and conduction velocity?
Class 1 Anti-arrhythmic Drugs
Which class of drugs slows the rate of rise of the O Phase, which increases effective refractory period.
Class 1A Anti-arrhythmic Drugs
What are the three Class 1A anti-arrhythmia agents?
- Quinidine
- Procainamide (Pronestyl)
- Disopiramide (Norpace)
Hemostasis requires what three factors to occur?
1) adequate number of platelets,
2) the platelets are functional
3) coagulation cascade (for fibrin production, the glue..)
When does hemostasis begin?
When there is damage to the normal healthy tissue, it maintains a balance and blocks unwanted activation and clot formation.
What effect does prostacyclins have on platelets?
They bind to platelet membrane receptors cAMP and inhibits de-granulation
