Precedent
A legal decision or ruling that serves as an example or authority for future cases
Res Ipsa Loquitur
The doctrine that suggests that the facts of a case speak for themselves, and negligence can be inferred from the nature of the accident
Strict Liability
Liability without fault, applied in cases involving inherently dangerous activities
Vicarious Liability
A situation in which one party is held liable for the actions of another, such as an employer being liable for the actions of an employee
Probable Cause
Reasonable grounds to believe that a crime has been or will be committed
