Define compensatory damages

A

are damages that aim to compensate the plaintiff who has suffered injury or loss to the extent that money is able to do so as a result of the defendant’s wrongful actions.

What is the difference between a mandatory and a restrictive injunction? Give an example of each type of injunction

A

mandatory injunctions—–are when a court order requires the defendant to do something such a pulling down a wall that has been built unlawfully. Restrictive injunction requires the defendant to refrain from doing something such as defamatory material.
