What is a rule?
Non-legal regulations or guidelines for a specific group or individual in society
Rules are often set by organizations or communities to govern behavior within that specific context.
What defines a law?
Legal guidelines made by legal institutions such as parliaments or courts
Laws are enforceable by the state and have legal consequences.
What is a parliament?
A formal assembly made up of representatives of people who are elected by the people to make laws, except for the Governor General/Governor who is appointed
Parliaments play a crucial role in the legislative process.
What does the constitution establish?
It establishes:
* Parliament
* The lawmaking powers of Commonwealth and states
* The judicial role of the High Court
* How the constitution can be changed
The constitution serves as the supreme law that outlines the structure and function of government.
