How did Carver become inspired to be an agricultural scientist?
He was born into a life of slavery is the Southern U.S and often saw the harsh challenges poor farmers faced as a child
What did George W. Carver create?
the first soy-based, dairy free cheese, 325 uses for peanuts, 108 applications for sweet potatoes and 75 products made of pecans
What are model organisms?
non-human species which are studied in great detail and have their biological processes which may apply to other animals studied.
What types of species are used as model organisms?
ones that are easy to maintain and breed within the laboratory setting.
