Lesson 4 - The Covenant with Noah Flashcards
(2 cards)
What did God promise Noah?
→ After the flood, Noah went to the top of Mount Ararat and created an altar to offer his best-burnt offerings to God | Genesis 8:20-22
→ The odour of the burnt offerings pleased God, and He promised Adam he “…will never again curse the ground because of man…”
How is Noah the New Adam?
→ Noah’s covenant with God was a renewal of the covenant with Adam (essentially renewal of covenant/connection with humanity)
Humanity was reset after the flood, essentially the Creation Story 2.0, with Noah being Adam in this story.
(language in Genesis 9:1-4 is similar to that in Genesis 1, further backing up this statement, ex. “Be fruitful and multiply…” )
Noah also ate fruit which lead to his fall, just like Adam.
