lil’ definitionn
A species scientific name has two parts. The first name is the genus and the second is the species. These two parts combine and are referred to as the scientific name. The first name, genius, is always written with a capital letter while the species is written entirely in lower case. To distinguish them from the rest of the text they are placed in italics, or if handwritten they are underlined. The scientific name is in Latin.
E.g. Genus species
E.g. Tyrannosaurus rex
